We worked on this trigger and found where he had welcomed his opinion (the preferred action).
It took some prompting, and although he said he’s not asked for his opinion, we cracked it.
His brother had been at his house on Friday night and had indeed welcomed his opinion.
He could see it now.
We continued to collapse the trigger.
A few weeks later, his brother called him.
He didn’t answer as he was in the car with a colleague.
The brother called his work phone, but it wasn’t his number anymore.
It now belonged to the man in the car with him!
And guess why he was calling?
To ask his opinion!
A week later, the brother called and told him he loved him.
Now, he didn’t have to go to his brother and say “you need to change” “you don’t value me” or cut him out of his life.
He found himself in his brother. He loved the part of himself that was reflected in his brother.
And BOOM. That’s the brilliance of this work.
